I am in favor of the use of technology, in the sense that it can be used in a good and proper way. Why should we not use the same technology to accomplish “golden works,” so that souls may be saved, at the very moment when the devil uses this same technology for the destruction of souls?
The issue is not to reach the point where one says, for example, “I do not watch television,” but rather to make proper and beneficial use of television. Is it wrong to watch a festive all-night vigil or a spiritual talk that we are unable to attend in person, or to follow a broadcast from an ecclesiastical channel with nationwide reach?
And technology is not only television. The proper use of technology can work wonders.
